There was once a time when almost everyone acquired, or knew how to do a practical skill of some kind, they were special skills, which most people used throughout life. They just became second nature. The proliferation Single Jersey Fabric Suppliers of pioneer style reality T.V. shows have featured sophisticated modern people transported back into the early 1900s, and boy, do they struggle to cope.It points out how badly off most people are when it comes down to knowing about old time survival skills, or the ability to make things using old time hand tools & methods. The survival rate of some of the people on these shows has been quite poor, due to the fact that they have never been instructed on how to utilize old-time pioneer skills in a practical kind of way.

Pioneer skills are not difficult to learn, but they do requirea certain amount of study along with plenty of hands on practice.Domestic skills, farm skills, building skills, woodworking skills & metal working skills; all of these skills were mostly learnt through simple instruction and much practice... mostly the skills were passed on from mother to daughter, or from father to son.Even in today's super sophisticated, computerised world there is still a place for "old pioneer skills".Take for instance the home inventor- mechanic - restoration or project builder. they all need to build or fabricate special parts, or to reproduce old broken parts to rebuild - restoreall things old.Presently, the pioneer skill of metal casting is going throughan incredible world wide renaissance.... people want to knowhow to make simple wooden patterns using everyday woodworking tools and skills.

They want to know how to melt and pour aluminium & bronze into sand moulds. Is all this old age art metal casting stuff difficult to learn?Definitely not! There are various Usenet groups around where you can learn from others, but one of the best ways to learn is to buy a bookwritten by an author who has been there and can actually tellyou how & what you should do to set up and run a successfulhobby foundry. There is an excellent collection of metal casting ebooks whichdescribe the age old art of metal casting in a way that the ordinary handy man will fully understand & be able to learnabout one the most ancient old world skills known to man.

All it takes is to have the ability to build the simple equipment & tools and then learn the special methods to create sand castings in Bronze & Aluminium. It is an enjoyable & rewarding pastime, but off course it is hot dirty work and can also be hazardous, but then all old world skills and could be claimed as potentially dangerous, and that is where common sense is used to prevent any potential hazards.

Find out what activities and fantasies he or she enjoys

When it comes to decorating a child's room, your approach should be different from decorating an adult bedroom. That's because a child's bedroom should reflect his or her personality and weft knit fabric not yours. For kids, their bedroom is where they play games, read, listen to music, wrestle, display or hide prized possessions, day-dream, or just go to be alone sometimes. So try these eight strategies to help create a space that will make you both happy:

  1. Talk to your child. Find out what activities and fantasies he or she enjoys; what their favorite color is; and what's unique about their personality that a theme could be built around. Then work their interests into a design that will make them feel comfortable, happy, and safe.

  2. Allow your child to help. Let them have a say about colors, fabrics, and how they want to display their collectibles. The design should be flexible enough to accommodate their changing tastes, needs, and interests.

  3. Make the room multi-functional. Since children use their room for many activities besides sleeping, it should have several different zones. These could include a play area; a reading area; a space to play with friends that's equipped with a radio, CD player, and a TV/VCR; a display area with a wall or corkboard for favorite photos and artwork; and finally, a place for shelving to display collectibles, trophies, and other personal items.

  4. Make storage a priority. Containing clutter will be one of your greatest challenges. Try shelving, large decorative wicker baskets, plastic see-through containers, and closets that contain plenty of shelving and racks.

  5. Keep window treatments simple. Avoid long draperies. Shades, blinds, and shorter curtains are safer choices. The fabric should be versatile, and patterns should be repeated in other items in the room, such as in pillows, quilts, lampshades, bed ruffles, etc.

  6. Choose the right lighting. A child's room should include both task lighting for homework and reading, and soothing light for quieter times. A nightlight is also important if your child is not comfortable in the dark, and for safety reasons, so they can find their way to the bathroom at night.

  7. Use wallpaper or paint to add color and texture. You can apply whimsical borders along the top edges of the walls, and clouds or stars on the ceiling. It might be wise to make sure the walls of childrens rooms are washable, so if you are using paint, choose a semi-gloss or gloss finish. Kids love bright colors, but you should limit any strong color to only one wall. For example, paint one wall fire-engine red, and the others a soft peach or pink.

  8. Allow your child to select the design theme. The choices are endless. Here are just a few: firehouse fun room, starry night, angels, rainbows, unicorns, baseball, a bedroom for a princess, underwater scenery, outer space, race cars, airplanes, trains, jungle motifs, wizards and dragons, and dinosaurs.

Decorating in the garden is only limited by your taste and imagination

Patio accessories can range from small to large and of all types of materials and styles depending on your garden d?cor. Outdoor entertaining on the patio or backyard has skyrocketed in the last few years as people China Pique Fabrics Manufacturers are treating their patios as outdoor rooms. Homeowners want to extend their homes, and adding accessories on the patio is one way to turn the indoors out. A patio accessory can be just about anything. Some ideas to enhance your garden and add decorative touches are: wind chimes, decorative flags, weathervanes, bird baths, houses, feeders, garden stakes, planters and more.

These are only a few of the thousands of things you can choose to add some decoration to your patio. You could also splurge on thick plump pillows on a wrought iron love seat. What about decorative rag rugs with ticking stripes for patio seat cushions? Fabrics along with your accessories make for a wonderful splash of color. I choose to keep to the same color palette that I have in my house. It only makes decorating sense to me to just keep the palettes going outside. I don't like the look of having one distinct color inside and then a completely different color outside. Flow is the rule indoors, why not outdoors too? Keep the color flow going with your furniture, and then add a pop of an unusual color with your accessories. If you aren't sure about the lime green or the hot pink, just add a little of it until you see if you want more.I love to search antique stores when I decorate outdoors.

Think outside the box for outdoor patio furniture. I add old tool chests for extra seating and benches. There are a lot of vintage twig pieces that add just that special decorative element. You don't have to "sit" in chairs. Set them up for interesting decorative planter. Have you seen an old wicker rocker that you adore but in drastic need of repair? Why not just put it to use as a plant stand and let its lovely features hold the plant instead. Garage sales are also ideal for decorating outside. If you buy things that aren't new or pristine, you don't care quite so much if the elements get to them. I love the aged look of pieces, knowing they served their life well performing a function, and now they are ready to just beautify my patio. I have an antique can collection and some of them are quite large. I use them as planters outside and some are large enough for plant stands.

I also love using old bikes, wheelbarrows, wagons, and other old farm equipment to accessorize my patio. My whole house is done in a shabby chic style so I carry this theme throughout my patio and front yard. I am also very creative so I make many things myself. I have some rusty chairs that I decorated with fabric; not caring if the fabric faded because the more faded the better. They look great with plants growing around them. I also enjoy making innovative bird houses out of things you wouldn't expect such as unique boxes or containers. My guests know to expect the unexpected when they visit my house. Its fun seeing the reactions of people when they see how I have turned an old rusty cast off piece of equipment into something incredibly beautiful.

Decorating in the garden is only limited by your taste and imagination. Be creative and make something yourself. There should be a lot of inspiration around you, just look out in your own backyard or the even the junkyard. Repurposing is a hot trend now and you can add your own personality into whatever you design. Don't be afraid to think outside the box. If you like a piece, take it home and place it around the patio in different locations until an idea comes to your head. If you really love a piece, you will be able to integrate it beautifully into your decorating theme. You are the one that has to live with it so wherever you place it you will love it everyday.Beverly Marshall is a successful freelance writer offering guidance and suggestions for consumers buying patio furniture, hammock styles, gas grills, picnic tables, above ground pools and more. A wedding planned in the spirit of nature provides the perfect opportunity for selecting wedding favors fashioned after elegant symbols consisting of, but not limited to maple leaves, butterflies, lavender buds,Interlock fabric and roses. While there is certainly no shortage of wedding favors available today that are inspired by nature, those that are carefully designed with distinctive style and artistic detail remain popular choices. As brides aim to locate the perfect wedding favors to reflect their personality and style, many look for favors made with exquisite details and designs inspired by nature such as embroidery or hand painting. Some examples include fabric containers made of silk and organza that are illustrated with floral landscapes or imagery. Besides attractive textures, color is another arena that brides have explored greatly as they sift through the astounding variety of favor bags in the hope of finding one that fits well within their wedding color scheme.

The favorite color for nature-inspired weddings ranges from iridescent colors of red and orange to soft pastel colors in yellow and green. These embroidered and hand-painted details are often found in wedding favor bags made from organza, which remains one of the most elegant and affordable fabrics. However, it is important to keep in mind that while organza bags come in a multitude of shapes, sizes, and prices, be sure to find high quality organza fabric that neither frays nor easily tears as a result of handling.

Of course, details such as embellished ribbons with unique pearl accents and beads have become the de rigueur, as brides have become more creative and discerning when searching for the ultimate favor bag. When all is said and done, what would elegant organza or silk bags with embroidered or painted floral embellishments be without a delicious treat or personal memento tucked inside them. Use fillings that are also inspired by nature that include soothing chamomile tea, delicious maple sugar candy, or delightful iced sugar cookies that are rendered in floral shapes to extend a nature-inspired theme.

No matter what filling may be desired, finding the ideal wedding favor for the nature-loving bride comes with exciting options, but only the perfect favor for today's demanding bride will make her top choice - those made with superior details and reflect the sophisticated taste of the bride and groom.About the author: Copyright ? 2004 Bellenza, Inc. The DWR finish is not permanent and needs to be maintained to optimize performance. Safe for use on Gore-Tex?, Sympatex?, Entrant?, Ultrex?, TriplePoint? and all liner and shell fabrics.

  1) Clean with Nikwax Tech Wash. Dirt will attract water and reduce the beading-up of droplets on the fabric's surface. Wash Reversible fabric the garment in Nikwax Tech Wash non-detergent soap. Detergents can leave water-attractive residues that will not rinse out. They also contain agents that can wash away water-repellent treatments. Never use liquid detergents or fabric softeners.

  2) Treat to restore durable water-repellency with Nikwax TX-Direct. Washing and using fabrics can make them begin to absorb water or "wet out". Nikwax TX-Direct completely restores surface water-repellency which enhances breathability. Nikwax TX-Direct lasts several washings and does not need to be reapplied after every wash like other treatments. TX-Direct is available in both wash-in and spray-on versions.

  3) Maintain by cleaning the fabric with Nikwax Tech Wash. Once treated, keep the fabric clean with Nikwax Tech Wash to maximize performance and extend the life of the fabric's new water-repellent finish.

Weft knit fabric and a massage therapist is selling stress

For example, if you're a mortgage broker, perhaps you're selling financial independence through investment in real estate. If you are a marketing consultant, you may be selling how to increase a person's income, weft knit fabric and a massage therapist is selling stress relief.Identify the ultimate benefit and value someone will receive by working with you.3. Use strong verbs, such as create, design, and teach. (NEVER use adjectives.)Verbs are the most powerful words in the English language, so, you certainly want to put them to work for you.All of us also tend to define each other by the verbs we use in our speech. For example, if you say you help, you are the "helper". If you say I assist, you are the "assistant".

Think about this...if you say you help or assist, the client still has a lot of work to do in their minds to solve their problem, don't they? Their problem still isn't solved, and they're not interested in your solution, because they want pain relief and results now!Use strong verbs in your 30-second sound byte, such as, "I teach", "I create", or "I develop," because they make you appear stronger, dynamic, and more helpful in solving problems. It's also a good idea not to use use adjectives in your 30-second sound byte. Repeated studies in the advertising field show they simply don't work. Saying, "I have the most fabulous skin cream that works wonders!" seems like a sales pitch, and is not very credible. This leads us into our 4th part of the formula...

4. Use numbers to "dollarize" and quantify what you do.Numbers are the MOST powerful "words" you can use in your 30-second sound byte. People remember numbers because:- Numbers make the abstract real.- Numbers are shown to make us anxious and curious. For example, if you say, "I teach people the 5 secrets about how to create financial freedom," or "I've developed 2 techniques how to increase your online traffic by 30% within 2 months," it captures attention, and creates curiosity, doesn't it?"Dollarizing" your value is the most powerful thing you can do to create both interest and a response in the listener to your 30-second sound byte. Think of your best success story, and use this as a guideline to dollarize and quantify your sound byte. The last piece of the formula is to...

5. Relate these numbers to Money, Love or Health.Things having to do with money, love or health creates the strongest emotional triggers in people. That's because we all have very strong needs regarding all three of these topics---they are key primary needs we all need to have satisfied. Tying what you do with these three trigger words almost guarantees you will get a stronger emotional response another person. To give you an idea how to put all five pieces of this formula together, here's an example of my 30-second sound byte:"I teach solo entrepreneurs the 7 steps to increase their income by 50%."The most common response I receive when I tell people this is, "Really?

Tell me how you do it." I then continue with additional sound bytes to keep their interest (rather than jumping into a long, drawn out story about myself). If you use these 5 steps to create your 30-second introduction, you will create an emotionally charged message that will capture peoples' attention, and generate interest in what you have to say.

This usually takes about a year or so in most climates

The first hanging porch swing I ever remember was the one my Grandparents had on their front porch. It was the classic swing. I think it was probably made out of cedar or redwood and hung from chains that were attached to the porch rafters. I guess what makes the swing memorable for me are the experiences I remember having there with loved ones. Maybe that is the allure that many have for porch swings. There is just something about them that reminds us of good times. Or maybe it is the promise of good times to come that makes a hanging porch swing such a fixture in many of our lives. Regardless, there is a swing out there to satisfy everyone's preference.

A few weeks ago I decided that I wanted to get a hanging porch swing. I started looking around and found out that there are some wonderful options. For those who prefer to avoid having any maintenance tasks that are often associated with wooden products, there are poly resin swings. These are not as attractive, in my opinion, but they are certainly functional and do not require any sanding or staining. For those who prefer a more rustic approach, cedar and teak are very popular choices. These don't really have to be sanded or restrained unless you wanted to. Another option is the bulkier looking, but also very popular, log style swings. These certainly have their place, but just not on my porch. I prefer a smaller looking wooden swing. If I were looking for a hanging porch swing for a mountain cabin or something I would probably like the log style more.

One of my favorite swings, that is both attractive and popular, is the hanging porch swing by Old Adirondack. This swing is classic in design and yet has a touch of rustic flair. Even though it is made out of wood, the seat is actually contoured so the swing is more comfortable. Like all natural cedar wood, when left outdoors it gets a nice weathered silver gray finish. This usually takes about a year or so in most climates. Classic, just my style.

For the more casual souls out there, a hanging porch swings that looks more like a hammock or a lounger might be just the thing. One particular company that makes swings like this is the Outbackchair Company. Their Urban Balance Expanse swing, for example, comes in some bold colors: teal (ocean), orange (mandarin) or green (kiwi). This versatile and durable swing allows for some serious relaxation, and looks pretty cool too. It is made with aluminum frames that are epoxy coated. The arms are wicker so they can withstand weather without missing a beat. Another hanging porch swing that the Outbackchair company makes is the Outback double basket weave lounger. This also comes in various colors: burgundy, sand, green, and navy. Up to 500 pounds of weight are comfortably supported and the materials are UV treated. The fabric is a waterproof 600 x600 denier polyester.

Everyone has their preferences for what they like in a hanging porch swing. Whether you go for the classic look of a wooden swing, like the modern poly resin swings, or prefer a fabric style swing, you are in luck. There is a hanging porch swing for everyone.
